Welcome to GovernanceMetrics International, the world's                         first global corporate governance ratings agency.
                      What's New at GMI?
GMI has enhanced coverage of Australian companies, providing rating reports on companies in the S&P/ASX 200, up from previous coverage of the S&P/ASX 100. This increase is in response to requests for expanded Australian coverage into mid-cap companies. If you are interested in coverage of the S&P/ASX 200 or would like more information, please contact GMI for further details.
In response to client requests, GMI developed an innovative system to analyze the relationship between CEO pay and company performance: Pay Alignment RankingsSM and Summary CEO Compensation Reports, which are included in GMI Rating Reports for US companies. Starting November 2009, these are also available as a stand-alone service for investors, companies and advisers whose primary focus is executive remuneration.

Last year, two professors began to look at the relationship between GMI ratings and company performance over a full five-year period from Q2 2003 to Q2 2008. This was the most extensive analysis of GMI ratings conducted to date. The results, which are now available, are striking. The empirical findings suggest that "buying high GMI rated stocks produces a winning strategy. GMI ratings appear to contain a significant unique element related to future returns that was not already available to investors."
We find these results quite assuring and are happy to share the results of both studies, plus earlier research on this topic. Please contact GMI to request your complimentary copy of GMI Governance and Performance Studies.
